JP TRAVEL ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Masaya Kobayashi, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

Data We Collect

1. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Learning Progress: Phrases you've studied and marked as learned
Favorites: Phrases you've bookmarked
Custom Phrases: Your personal phrases and notes
Travel Journal: Your journal entries and photos

Important: All this data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. Information Collected by Third Parties

Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect:

Device advertising identifier (IDFA)
IP address
App usage data
Ad interaction data

Purpose: To show relevant advertisements and measure ad performance.

Apple In-App Purchase

When you make a purchase to remove ads, transaction data is processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

3. Photo Library Access

When you add photos to your travel journal:

You grant permission to access your photo library
Photos are saved locally on your device only
We do not upload or transmit your photos anywhere

How We Use Your Data

Learning Progress: To track your study history and show personalized recommendations
Favorites & Custom Phrases: To provide quick access to your saved content
Travel Journal: To help you document your travel experiences
Advertisements: To support the free version of the app

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties, except:

Google AdMob: For advertising purposes (as described above)
Apple: For processing in-app purchases

Data Retention

How Long We Keep Your Data

Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or clear app data
Learning Progress & Custom Phrases: Retained indefinitely on your device until manually deleted
Travel Journal & Photos: Stored in your device's private app folder until you delete them or uninstall the app
Ad Data: Retained by Google AdMob according to their data retention policies
Purchase Data: Retained by Apple indefinitely to maintain your premium status and enable purchase restoration

To delete all data: Simply uninstall the app from your device. This will permanently remove all locally stored information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We do not use cookies directly in our app. However, Google AdMob may use tracking technologies to deliver personalized advertisements.

How to Manage Ad Tracking:

iOS 14.5+: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
Limit Ad Tracking: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Turn off "Personalized Ads"
Google Ads Settings: Visit Google Ads Settings to manage your ad preferences

Alternative: Purchase the premium version ($4.99) to remove all advertisements and eliminate ad tracking entirely.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, you have the following rights:

Right to Access: All data is stored locally on your device - you have full access at all times
Right to Erasure: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data permanently
Right to Rectification: Edit your custom phrases, journal entries, and learning progress within the app
Right to Restrict Processing: Purchase premium ($4.99) to remove ads and stop AdMob data collection
Right to Object: Opt out of personalized ads in iOS Settings (see "Cookies and Tracking Technologies" section above)
Right to Data Portability: Export your journal entries and custom phrases using the app's export features (available in Settings)

Advertising Opt-Out Options

You have multiple ways to opt out of personalized advertising:

Within iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable tracking
Google Ads: Manage your Google ad preferences
Complete Removal: Purchase premium version to remove all ads

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

All local data is stored using iOS secure storage (SQLite)
Photos are stored in the app's private sandbox
No data is transmitted over networks (except ad requests)

Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). The app is designed for general travel use and does not target children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through app update notifications.
